Art. 1 – Introduction and legal framework
1.1 This notice describes the types of cookies and other tracking tools used by the website wsbarrier.com (the “Website“), the purposes pursued, the legal bases and the ways in which users can express and manage their choices.
1.2 This notice is provided in implementation of: Article 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (the “Italian Privacy Code“), as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018, transposing Directive 2002/58/EC (the “ePrivacy Directive”); Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the “GDPR“); the “Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools” adopted by the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) by decision of 10 June 2021 (no. 231).

Art. 2 – Definitions: cookies and similar technologies
2.1 Cookies are small text strings that visited websites send to the user’s device (computer, tablet, smartphone), where they are stored and retransmitted to the same websites on subsequent visits.
2.2 Similar technologies — such as pixels, tags, local storage, device identifiers, fingerprinting — may be used for the same purposes; this notice applies to them insofar as compatible. Where the term “cookie” is used in this document, it must be understood as also referring to such technologies.
Art. 3 – Classification of cookies
Cookies are classified:
a) by the party installing them: first-party cookies (installed directly by the Website) and third-party cookies (installed by other domains, managed by third parties);
b) by duration: session cookies (automatically deleted when the browser is closed) and persistent cookies (which remain on the device until they expire or are deleted by the user);

4.2 Third-party functional and security tools
Google reCAPTCHA (Google Ireland Ltd) is used on the Website’s forms to distinguish human users from bots and to protect the Website against spam and abusive automated activity.

4.3 Analytics cookies (consent required)
The Website uses Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd), deployed through Google Tag Manager, to collect aggregate statistics on the use of the Website (pages visited, traffic sources, device type, geographical area). Google Analytics 4 does not log users’ IP addresses; however, the data collected may also be processed by Google for its own purposes. In accordance with the Garante Guidelines, these cookies are installed only with the user’s prior consent.

Google Tag Manager is a tag management system that does not install its own tracking cookies; it activates the services listed above exclusively in accordance with the preferences expressed by the user through the banner.
4.4 Third-party cookies related to embedded content (consent required)
The Website embeds third-party content which, if activated, may install cookies and process user data for the third parties’ own purposes, including profiling. Without consent, the related content may not be displayed.

Where technically possible, the Controller embeds videos using the privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com domain), which limits the installation of cookies before playback starts.
4.5 The precise list of cookies actually installed by third parties, including their durations, is managed and kept up to date through the Website’s consent management platform and may change at the third parties’ own discretion.

Art. 6 – Consent management through the banner
6.1 On the first visit to the Website, a banner compliant with the Garante Guidelines of 10 June 2021 is displayed, allowing the user to: (a) accept all cookies; (b) reject all cookies other than technical ones; (c) make granular choices by category through the preferences panel; (d) close the banner via the “X”, keeping the default settings (technical cookies only).
6.2 Until consent is given, no cookies other than technical ones are installed (prior consent). Consent is documented by the Controller through the consent management platform, for accountability purposes under Article 5(2) GDPR.
6.3 Users may change or withdraw their choices at any time, with effect for the future, via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page of the Website.
6.4 In accordance with the Garante Guidelines, the banner is not displayed again until at least 6 months after the last choice, unless: the processing conditions change significantly; the Website is unable to detect that a preference cookie is stored; or the user deletes cookies from their device.

Art. 9 – Transfers of data to third countries

Such transfers take place in compliance with Chapter V of the GDPR, on the basis of the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 concerning the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which Google LLC is certified, and, where applicable, of the standard contractual clauses under Article 46(2)(c) GDPR.

Data subjects may at any time exercise the rights set out in Articles 15-22 GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent) by writing to info@wsbarrier.com, and may lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) pursuant to Article 77 GDPR.
