Bridge parapet
Vertical posts in “CORTEN®” S355J0WP or galvanized S355JR steel, “C” section 120x80x25 mm, 5 mm thick and 1410 mm long, with base plate and reinforcing gussets welded to the base. The posts are spaced 1333 mm apart and anchored to the support with threaded bars Ø24×300 mm and two-component resin. A pair of spacers — specially shaped “CORTEN®” S355J0WP or galvanized S355JR steel elements, 200x120x92 mm, 5 mm thick — is fixed to the posts, to which the triple-wave horizontal rails in “CORTEN®” S355J0WP or galvanized S355JR steel, 4318×502 mm, 2.5 mm thick, are fixed. Upper profiles are fixed to the top of the posts: “CORTEN®” S355J0WP or galvanized S355JR steel elements with an “Omega” profile 50x134x120x134x45 mm, 5 mm thick, connected to one another by dedicated “Omega”-profile connectors of suitable size and 500 mm long. The steel components are joined by high-strength hexagonal-head bolts Cl. 8.8 M16x50 (Spacer–Post–Upper-profile connection) and round-head bolts Cl. 8.8 M16x30 (Rail–Spacer, Rail–Rail and Upper element–Post); nuts, washers and dedicated slot-cover plates.
