Vertical posts in “CORTEN®” S355J0WP or galvanized S355JR steel, “C” section 120x60x25 mm, 5 mm thick and 1580 mm long; driven into the ground to a depth of 805 mm and spaced 2000 mm apart, paying particular attention to the driving orientation (with the 60 mm side placed longitudinally to the carriageway), which is alternated with respect to the direction of travel (see installation lay-out). A pair of double-wave rails in “CORTEN®” S355J0WP or galvanized S355JR steel, 4318×310 mm, 2.5 mm thick, is fixed to the posts (on the two 60 mm sides). The horizontal bands are completed with solid-wood strips 60×50 mm and 1990 mm long partially covering the rail, suitably shaped and impregnated in line. The lower band is coated with a dedicated white reflective paint. The barrier can be upgraded by removing the wood cladding “kit”, redefining the device into a barrier of the same certified class. The steel components are joined by high-strength bolts Cl. 8.8 M10x30 (Rail–Post, with an added slot-cover plate), and M16x30 (Rail–Rail); nuts and washers. The strips are fixed to the rail with round-head bolts Cl. 4.8 M16x60; nuts and washers.
